We can launch gitk for entire repo/submodule, but there is also ability to launch gitk for only one file:

gitk – <file-name>

it would be nice to be able to launch gitk for currently opened file only, and maybe also launch gitk for all files in a certain folder (i.e. for entire folder that current file belongs to).

this makes it easier to track changes for one or group of files.
