Git commit editor doesn't show new files in directories that don't have files under version control yet

      If you have a project under git and add a file, it usually is shown in the 'files' section in the commit editor, and one can select it for commit.

      If you create a new directory under the project and add a file, this doesn't happen, and one cannot add it to the commit.
