I'm not sure if this issue is a problem with GDB or Creator. I suspect it's an issue with the Creator debugging helpers so I'm starting here.

GDB crashes when debugging a C application using Creator with GDB version 7.6. I've tested with Creator version 2.5.2, 2.6.2, 2.7.0, and 2.8.0-beta. All versions of Creator have the same symptom with GDB 7.6. With GDB 7.5 or 7.5.1, all four versions of Creator work fine.

Starting the inferior for debugging works fine. Setting breakpoints before starting the inferior works fine. Setting breakpoints after the inferior is running crashes GDB. Using any debug command (step over, step into, step out, continue, or even stop debugging) after a breakpoint is hit crashes GDB. Creator informs 60 seconds later with a "GDB not responding" dialog and asks to terminate GDB.
