Description
When trying to install 5.15 and 6.1.0 at the same time, the whole installation goes wrong.
First pass:
- download online installer
- sign in (commercial license)
- Install to C:\Qt
- select custom installation
- select latest releases & Preview and click filter
- select Qt Creator 4.14-rc1
- accept terms and license
- Start menu shortcut: Qt
- Installation starts and starts to download assets
- installation stops around 38%
- installer complains about vcredist_x86.exe cannot be run by user.
- try to run the tool from command line (as per popup): fails as needs elevation
- run the tool with administrative cmd prompt
- retry installer on dialog
- same issue after couple minutes
- abort
- C:\Qt directory has only one folder being 'vcredist' and nothing else
Second pass:
- Delete C:\Qt directory
- run installer
- set parameters as above
- Installation starts and starts to download assets
- installer does not complain anything but stops at 38%
- one can see from the installer progress (left side of installer window) that it is 'Finished'.
