Is there still a need to avoid white spaces in installation folder paths

If a user tries to install Qt into the path with white spaces, there will be a warning and the path is not accepted. 

Is this still required? Are there tools, which still require paths without white spaces? Especially, in Windows the folder "Program Files" is problematic, as this is the default folder, where installations should go.
