Get the installation status of the component

I tried to use the isInstalled method of the component object in the callback function of the installation preparation page in the global control script to obtain the installation status of the component, but did not get it. I checked the information and found that the component object did not have the isInstalled method, but I saw this method in the component description. May I ask if I am using it incorrectly or if I do not have this method at all.
