Qt offline installer that is generated via Qt Online installer GUI requires signing on MacOS

XMLWordPrintable

    • macOS

Qt user reported that they generated offline installer via Qt Online installers GUI and had to sign it themselves:

      "

I'm getting a crash when trying to start an offline installer I created. Seems the installer is not signed correctly. I did the following:

      • Download qt-online-installer-macOS-x64-4.8.1.dmg (It states it's intended for macOS (Apple Silicon/Intel))
      • Use it to create an offline installer including iOS, Android and a couple of additional libraries
      • Start the created offline installer

Running macOs Sequoia 15.3.1 on Apple M1

After signing the app myself I can start it. I did the same with older versions in the past. If I remember correctly I didn't have to sign those.

If signing is requirement that the user needs to do then the Online installer generation process should instruct about this?
