If an offline installer is being created using Qt's online installer this does not work.

Here are the steps to reproduce:
1. Run the online installer.
2. Choose a custom configuration.
3. Select every 6.8.2 option except for "sources" options.
4. Choose the option to build your own custom offline installer.
5. Wait until it's done. It takes a while.
6. Mount the generated dmg, then attempt to run the installer.
7. It crashes immediately.

This is happening on OSX 15 or higher. works in lower version.
