P3: Somewhat important Description
1st there is no bug category for the sdk updater? add this to the bug category
the sdk update tool hangs, for me it would keep hanging when try to download the update doc, if i hit cancel then selected install, everything would download and they i've crap out when the installer failed to extract download file
the work around is to call the update tool from the command line as root, it still hand when downloading the doc, hitting cancel and then install allow it to complete ok
the gui update tool fails to ask for the root password when cancel and then install it hit, the 2nd time i run as non-priviledge user more and not admin mode, this explain the failure for the extraction at the end
as i see it, there are several bugs here
1) update tool hangs while downloading
2) the password dialog to put allow it to run as root don't happen if user cancel out of the hang and then hit install again
