Description
As of 13/4 2011, the results table contains 11,327,562 rows. A rough estimate suggests that this table currently grows by around 175,000 rows per day (7 active branches reporting 5 results for 2,000 benchmarks 2-3 times per day).
Update: As of 12/4 2011, the results table contains 22,594,985 rows. This indicates an average growth rate of 93,119 rows per day since 13/4.
Unless this growth rate is reduced, the database performance will gradually suffer until either the user responsiveness becomes unacceptable or the disk runs full.
Another problem is that very long time series are harder to interact with in the user interface (see QTQAINFRA-292).
Note: Although the following subtasks are intended as mutually exclusive solutions to this problem, they could also be applied in combination.
