Description
This kind of a solution has been needed and hoped to have someday for the needs of CI Platforms already from the beginning when we started:
- In the start we planned to create only a CI platforms Jira backlog (as a minimum viable product, it was the easiest for a start)
- Which could help to visualize how those CI Platforms are moving towards all the branches
Now we have this new Cherry Pick Status -solution in Gerrit
- https://codereview.qt-project.org/x/gerrit-plugin-cherrypickstatus/cherrypick?
Could it help with that original request as well, because
- The original vision was to have a web solution, which could visualize how new CI platforms are moving to other branches (status included)
- Could this new Gerrit solution be used to visualize those?
- 1)
By selecting a tab/selection to show "CI platforms"? - 2)
Or a new "CI platforms" -tab in Gerrit dedicated for these? - 3) By adding a filter for gerrit hashtags
- 1)
With this third option with gerrit hashtags
- We could use own hashtag i.e. "ci_platform" freely to visualize "CI platform" changes based on these How to introduce changes to CI platforms
- Hashtags are not depended on commit itself, so they are easily added/removed/edited afterwards if needed - Easier to handle
- Extra benefit: Also others could use hashtags for own purposes if they need similar visibility
We already have "[CI Platform]" in description (QTQAINFRA-5842) if that helps, or if any other label is needed, we could add
- No need to use these, hashtags could work better for this
