When adding files to a .qrc resource file in a project, the files are not added to the "Additional Dependencies", which means the .qrc will not be rebuilt when one of these files are modified.

This bug was closed and flagged as a duplicate of this one... But the latter is about adding the files to the .vcxproj file so it appears in the solution browser, which is indeed fixed. But the files are still not added to the dependencies of the custom build tool for the qrc.
