VS2017 goes unresponsive changing any project properties with VSAddin enabled

Noticed VS2017 goes unresponsive making any changes in the project properties. The unresponsiveness just holds on. The max I have waited is just over 60 minutes and then had to force close Visual Studio.

Disabling the plugin and then making changes is almost instant. So it does seem like a problem with Qt plugin. I tried both 2.2.0 and 2.2.1

A few examples are

1. Project Properties -> Configuration Properties -> C/C++ -> General -> Additional Include Directories
   1. Click edit here and add an entry.
   2. Click OK
2. Project Properties -> Configuration Properties -> Linker -> General -> Additional Library Directories
   1. Click edit here and add an entry.
   2. Click OK
3. Project Properties -> Configuration Properties -> C/C++ -> Preprocessor -> Preprocessor Definitions
