Description
I should preface everything below by saying I have been building QT5 projects (both 32 bit and 64 bit) for years in VS2019 using the 2.7.1 plugin without problems. I also just tried the 2.7.2 (rev 2) plugin. I'm a commercial licensee trying to move to QT6.
Problem and repro steps
- download 6.2.2 binaries using the commercial online installer
- add C:\Qt\6.2.2\msvc2019_64 qmake to the Visual Studio versions list and select as default
- using the plugin, open a project using "Open Qt Project file (.pro)"
The plugin generates the following warning and doesn't load the project! This warning makes no sense.
Warning
qmake has generated a .vcproj file, but it needs to be converted.
To do this you must open the .vcproj file manually.
(Reason: qmake in Qt3 does not support generation of Visual Studio 2005 .vcproj files)
If I set the Visual Studio versions default back to Qt 5.15.7, projects load fine and compile.
I'm using Visual Studio 2019 16.11.8 on Windows 10 64 bit.
