However while using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x (Snapdragon 625) which uses the Adreno 506 this issue is still existing. Manually forcing "QT_ENABLE_GLYPH_CACHE_WORKAROUND" for each QT application works, however it's better to solve it in qtbase directly by add additional Adreno chipsets that need this workaround.
