    Description

      We do not presently support locale variants. At present the only variants in CLDR are the POSIX variant of English, provided as en_US_POSIX.xml, and the Valencian variant of Catalan, provided as ca_ES_VALENCIA.xml; the latter has been requested by users. (The former might be of interest, if it can serve to replace our present hard-coded version of the POSIX locale, a.k.a. C, currently implemented in code.)
