I ran into an issue that somehow my QmlJSTools plugin was disabled (did not do that myself, it was a fresh install). That caused the QmakeProjectManager plugin (and many others) unavailable. When a plugin is unavailable, it becomes greyed out. That makes it impossible to select it and then click the Details button to figure out why it is greyed out.

I got help on IRC, but I would have never guessed that I'd need to enable this plugin in order to get the QmakeProjectManager plugin to become enabled (which in turn caused me being unable to load .pro files).

It would be nice if you could select the greyed out plugins in order to get details on why they are greyed out, or if this information was available in another way.
