Description
Visual Studio Code has a cool option for visualising whitespace. They call it 'boundary' - 'the boundary option does not render single spaces between words'.
I think that should probably be the default, and I would suggest simply changing the behaviour when 'Visualise whitespace' is on to act like that. I honestly can't think of a single situation when you'd want to visualise a single space between words.
