after the auto complete window is shown, before 4.12, it used to be possible to change the number of characters that were used for the suggestions (narrowing or widening the search)
moving the cursor into white space to the right or left would hide the suggestions completely

now the cursor isn’t displayed anymore, it can still be moved but that doesn’t have any impact on the results, and it also swallows characters when it was moved and the suggestion is then committed with Enter
