    Description

I used to be able to switch the editor to a different open file by holding down Ctrl and pressing Tab to select the file.  The editor would immediately switch to the selected/highlighted file when the Ctrl key was released.  Now the popup menu remains on the screen after I release Ctrl until I press any other key.  For example, assume I have three files open: “a”, “b”, “c” and I’m currently viewing “a”.  Now I press and hold Ctrl and and press Tab once.  This will display the popup that shows “a”, “b”, “c” with “b” selected.  When I release Ctrl, the popup remains on the screen until I press another key (e.g. Escape or Enter or Space).  What used to happen is the editor would immediately switch to file “b” when Ctrl was released.

This is fairly consistent behavior, however sometimes the editor immediately switches to the file when Ctrl is released.  I will follow up on this post if I can determine when/why.

I discovered this while testing KDE + Wayland on Fedora 40.  This is not happening on Gnome + X11 on Fedora 40.
