Currently, the "highlight color" for the button of the selected mode is the same as the base icon color. The upcoming facelift defines a dedicated accent color for that highlight. In order to keep existing themes working and to enable the dedicated color, a new theme color role needs to be introduced and set accordingly in the existing and new themes.
