Current status
- Qt Creator uses an application icon that does not correspond to Qt brand guidelines or host operating system human interface guidelines.
- Qt Creator uses inconsistent iconography within the application (edit mode).
- Qt Creator on Windows registers filetype-specific icons, the set is incomplete and the icons used do not correspond to modern design æsthetics.

Technical information
- Qt Creator shall use application icons that correspond to Qt brand guidelines as delivered by the Marketing organization.
- Qt Creator shall update the iconography in edit mode to conform to the rest of the application and its visual facelift.
- The use of filetype-specific icons in all host operating systems shall be investigated, and if a reasonable default is provided, the registration of filetype-icons is stoppped.

- Qt Creator uses only the new application icons.
- Qt Creator uses new icons within the edit mode.
- The filetype-specific icons no longer stand out within any host operating system’s filesystem visualization tools
