    Description

      Current status 

      1. Qt Creator uses an application icon that does not correspond to Qt brand guidelines or host operating system human interface guidelines.
      2. Qt Creator uses inconsistent iconography within the application (edit mode).
      3. Qt Creator on Windows registers filetype-specific icons, the set is incomplete and the icons used do not correspond to modern design æsthetics.

      What is the benefit? Why is this valuable?

      1. Presence in host operating system looks appropriate and modern.
      2. Internal UI is consistent.
      3. Presence in host operating system looks appropriate and modern.

      Technical information

      1. Qt Creator shall use application icons that correspond to Qt brand guidelines as delivered by the Marketing organization.
      2. Qt Creator shall update the iconography in edit mode to conform to the rest of the application and its visual facelift.
      3. The use of filetype-specific icons in all host operating systems shall be investigated, and if a reasonable default is provided, the registration of filetype-icons is stoppped.

      Acceptance criteria

      1. Qt Creator uses only the new application icons. 
      2. Qt Creator uses new icons within the edit mode.
      3. The filetype-specific icons no longer stand out within any host operating system’s filesystem visualization tools

      1. Marketing organization for application icons.
      2. None.
      3. Host operating system for filetype-specific icons.
