    Description

      on ubuntu one can install up-to-date cmake via snap. qtcreator correctly auto-detects the binary, but it cannot be used because qtcreator complains that "Version not parsable"

      the snap binary seems to be a small shim around /usr/bin/snap:

      tim@xps-plus ~> ls -l /snap/bin/cmake
      lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 May 16 18:22 /snap/bin/cmake -> /usr/bin/snap*
      tim@xps-plus ~> /snap/bin/cmake --version
      cmake version 4.0.2

      CMake suite maintained and supported by Kitware (kitware.com/cmake).
